Weaknesses:
It is also recommended to include your boundaries around shipping, hurting or killing your character on your sheet. Please note: Depending on your chosen reference format, the judges may compile it into a separate document for ease of access.
But I'm Not an Artist!
Should you be unable to draw a reference, you may ask for a reference to be made by our judges. To do so, please message Talon with the below information:
Species and general body description (i.e. eyes, skin, hair color and style, etc.)
Unique features (i.e. tattoos, horns, etc.)
Clothing
Accessories (i.e. weapons, items, jewelry, etc.)
Please note: Because this is a free service, the design of the character may be limited and the judges have the right to refuse certain designs should they prove to be too complicated.
Character Abilities
Weaknesses
Weaknesses are something that can be taken advantage of in all situations and are exploitable. You are required to have at least 3 valid weaknesses per character in order for them to be approved.Examples of acceptable weaknesses:
General weak points
Physical shortcomings (i.e. poor stamina, poor vision)
Drawbacks to abilities resulting in being unable to continue combat
Examples of unacceptable weaknesses:
Cowardice
Gullibility
Weakness to fire
Cannot swim
If you're unsure if something is a weakness, ask yourself the following:
“Is it something that will generally harm most living beings?”
“Is it caused by a lack of skill in something that can be learned?”
“Does it require a specific situation in order to be relevant?”
If the answer to any of these questions is ‘yes,’ it is an unacceptable weakness and must be replaced.
Strengths
Strengths are skills/abilities/talents that a contestant can utilize to increase their chance of winning against an opponent. There is no limit on strengths, but please keep them reasonable.Examples of common strengths:
Combat expertise/military experience
Increased intelligence
Speed
Magical abilities
Additional Abilities During Rounds
For certain genres, it is acceptable to give your character(s) additional weapons such as guns or magical artifacts so long as it makes sense within the plot of your entry. However, items such as these cannot be removed from their environment to prevent power creeping. For example, a character cannot find and keep or be awarded a weapon to be used in later rounds.
Lastly,
Think ahead and be smart about how you are designing a character. For comic artists, this is something you will have to draw repeatedly over the course of the competition. Don’t regret having an overly complex design.
The judges have the final say on what is or is not an acceptable character submission. If there is something that needs to be changed to better work within tournament parameters, you will be asked to make changes to your submitted character(s). Until these changes are submitted, you will not be accepted into the tournament.

Audition Requirements
Despite having been off the air for several years, the Television Space Game Show has been brought back – and your character has been selected to participate as a contestant in season 85. Whether or not this was desired, your character has no real say in the matter, as they are unceremoniously snatched by persuasive forces and transported here.Upon recovering and accessing the situation, your character finds themselves trapped in an interview with a very chatty Opossum named Daisy Hill. She’s “SOOOOOOOoooo excited to have you here!” and hopes you can answer a few of her questions before you meet the others. The cameras are rolling and there is no escape from the show. Better hope your character doesn’t have stage fright!
What Must be Included
Have your character be teleported onto the Main Stage.
Have your character engage with the new host, Daisy Hill.
Have your characer answer the following questions:
Who are you?
Where are you from?
What is it that you seek?
Length Guidelines
For written entries, your word count must be LOWER than 25,000 words.
For comic entries, your page count must be LOWER than 100 pages.
Submitting Your Audition
You Must Submit Within
How to Submit
To submit your audition, you can either submit the entry through the respective Discord channel, or through the submission form.If you choose to submit through Discord, post a link to your entry hosted on another site (such as Google Drive). We ask you not to post your entry directly to the Discord, as it makes it easier to add to the archives if it’s contained within a link.
How to Excel Within TVS
Familiarize yourself with the rules.
Your audition is how we are introduced to your character(s), so make sure you spend time introducing them before sending them to Television Space!
For comic entries, try to be creative with your panels and layout. Don’t be so creative that it affects readability, but try to at least vary character poses and angles.
Make use of the resources provided to you. Both the rubric and the Archives will give you an insight on what the judges are looking for, as well as what a successful audition/round looks like for this OCT.
A long entry is not always better, and shorter is not always sweeter. Be concise in what you wish to tell in your story and evaluate your plot to make sure everything you are working on is truly necessary.
If you need an extension, ask! Certain events are outside of your control and life always comes first. Do not be afraid to ask for an extension.

World Information
The Television Space
Also referred to as The Entity, TVS, or variations of the sort. It is a non-corporeal being who dwells in the vast expanse just beyond the boundaries of the known universe. This being consists of the surrounding void of space, where it can alter the fabric of reality to its whims. The origins of the TVS are unknown, but it exhibited a general curiosity towards the surrounding universe and those who live within it. Using its reality-altering powers, it plucked individuals from the surrounding universe and broadcasted their participation in the Television Space Game Show. It collected energy from those who watch — not enough to cause problems, but enough to sustain it while using the remainder to grant the lucky winner a wish. As the popularity of the show grew, so too did its energy input — resulting in an expansion of reach and viewership… And of grander wishes. While a passive presence and mostly unnoticed by those who cannot not perceive it, contestants who had drawn its attention noted feeling a pressing force in the air around them, coupled with tingling that could leave limbs numb. Direct interactions between the TVS and contestants and staff vary greatly. Staff who work with the TVS often reported obsessive behavior and aggression towards those who did not fall in line to its vision of the game show. In contrast, contestants usually went unbothered unless they happened to perform in ways to draw its ire. Disruption of the game show or failure to entertain resulted in contestants suffering additional challenges or hardships, even becoming lost within the space itself.Following the end of season 84, The Television Space has grown quiet. It has made no attempts to broadcast anything itself, and its presence seems to have withdrawn from the surrounding space.
The Barrens
A newly discovered entity composed of heat and light, with a hunger for energy. Its curiosity about the Television Space is what drew it to the area, and its hunger is what drives it to study the space and game show through its emissary, the Scrivener.Though the two spaces have begun to intersect, the veil between the spaces is otherwise as difficult to pierce as any other edge of the TVS. Visitors who happen into the Barrens will usually encounter an unbearably hot, endless desert, in which even the sand seems to radiate heat and light. Visitors to the Barrens are protected from the worst of the negative effects this heat would otherwise cause, but the experience is still unpleasant.
The Original Main Stage

Created by the original hosts of Television Space Game Show, the original stage was used as the primary stage up until season 59, when it was replaced by the Main Stage. How Daisy and her crew found the old stage is still a mystery, but somehow the old equipment has been restored and it has once again taken up the mantle as the centerpoint of the space. The stage is split into three parts; the central stage, the left wing, and the right wing. The central stage has the control console – used to transport contestants into Game Worlds and utilize additional camera/light controls — as well as where Daisy primarily interacts with the audience. The left wing features a small sitting area where one-on-one interactions occur with guests. Finally, the right wing features the Exit Door, and the contestant’s way out from the Television Space. The room surrounding the stage is fairly small, offering only enough space for camera operators to maneuver. The cameras themselves are large and bulky. The central camera is moveable, but limited to a metal track on the floor, while the remaining stationary camera can only shoot from one angle.

While all broadcasted interactions with the host take place onstage, contestants can find several areas backstage to explore during their stay:
Stage Control Room - Staff-only room for monitoring live viewer feedback as well as general controls over the stage (lights, camera monitoring, etc.).
Lounge - Relaxing area for contestants. Featurews a sitting area, board games, as well as plenty of refreshments and food.
Dressing Room - Area for contestants to ready up for their rounds. Not required, but contestants may be forced into costumes to better fit certain genre themes.
Stage Maintenance Access - LOCKED - Lower area below the stage floor. Incoming energy from the show’s views flows through here before being directed to the rest of the structure. Contestants are forbidden from this area.
Truss Access - LOCKED - Area for repairing Truss and Lighting.
Staff Rooms - LOCKED - Rooms for staff to find reprieve away from contestants.
Staff Lounge - Quiet area for staff to relax. Accessible to contestants but only when staff let them in.
Conference Room - constructive space for staff to discuss the game show.
Storage - Rooms for storing excess maintenance supplies, costumes, and set pieces.
Bar - LOCKED - An old English Bar ripped straight from some detective noir. Alcohol is mostly cleared out and the place looks as it if hasn’t been touched in a lifetime.
The Dead Space
A section of the Television Space that has been isolated and no longer under the control of the entity. This area is where the Original Stage is kept as well as the Host’s House. Anything that happens or exists within this space cannot be altered by the TVS, and while the TVS can sneak one of their cameras in, they cannot enter the space when the Exit Door is shut.
Game Worlds
When the rounds begin, contestants are transported into worlds created by the Television Space that reflect real environments. These can range from an office building or a wild west town to replications of a contestant’s real life settings. These worlds often have a specific task that pits two contestants against each other, relating to an overarching genre theme. There are limits to these areas, however. Despite being called worlds, they are actually quite small and are limited to what is necessary for the round to be completed. Outside of the Game World’s set, the environment is simply static and empty. The game worlds have fallen into disrepair and are reused from previous seasons. While the Television Space would usually try to present them in decent appearance, it is clear that a lot of these sets have been neglected during the season break.
The Main Stage
The replacement of the Original Stage following the Incident, and the center piece between seasons 60-84. It offered a unique feature as contestants could not utilize magical abilities or weapons within its bounds, as well as more invasive filming from the Space’s mobile camera drones. Since the end of season 84, there has been no sighting of this stage or its resident host.

Pre-Season 84
10 years ago, the Television Space Game Show was an anomaly that had been present in the known connected universe for nearly a century. It was a genre-based game show, run by the Television Space with a mortal host standing as the connection between the audience and the entity. The show broadcasted from within its space, far beyond the immediate reach of the surrounding universe, though that has changed with time. Each season operated for 1 to 2 weeks, depending on how quickly the contestants moved through their rounds. The longest season was number 43, reaching a length of 3 weeks due to complications regarding the romantic comedy genre. Once a season was concluded, there were roughly 200 to 500 days between the next, before it spontaneously returned on any random channel/streaming service. However, it was noted that the TVS preferred popular sporting channels during peak season. What little is known about the TVS is all gleaned through the broadcast archives and contestant testimonies in various interviews. Despite many years of being observed, it wasn’t until recently that the overall purpose of the broadcasts was discerned: though also a way for the entity to reach other worlds, it was also drawing energy from its viewers.
The Initial Broadcast
The specific date and time of the first airing of the Television Space Game Show varies from world to world. However, in all cases it occurred suddenly and without warning. The broadcast overrode that of preexisting channels with high traffic viewership, negating all attempts to disengage. During the first 2 minutes of airtime, the TVS addressed the audience directly. This is the only instance of the TVS communicating to those outside of its plane of existence:“Through time and space, you have all granted me the gift of learning what lies beyond my expanse. As a reward, and an offering of good will, I extend myself to a chosen few for the chance to receive this blessing. My reach may be limited, but I hope to one day entertain you all, as you have entertained me.”Following this brief message, the first Television Space Game Show began. It introduced the audience to many odd creatures, some of which the viewers had never seen before, and would never see again. In an instant, the worlds of the universe were suddenly aware of each other and of the unknown presence that lurked somewhere beyond. When the show reached its conclusion and the first wish was granted, many thought it was simply a weird publicity stunt. This theory was disproved when it returned several months later with an entirely new set of contestants. Soon after, it became a common occurrence that drew many to watch out of curiosity and wonder.
The First Host

Tomi Touer was the first host and the one who introduced the newly connected universe to Television Space. Touer was a nervous feline who always spoke factually and to the point. While she had a vast knowledge of television history, satellites, and camera operations, she lacked social skills to properly engage with contestants. She was also visibly uncomfortable being on stage. Touer’s career as host only lasted 3 seasons before her removal.
The Second Host

Richard Riot replaced Touer, and was a vast improvement by comparison. A large, well-built man, Richard had a louder personality and excelled at reading contestants. He had a habit of targeting those with bad intent or rude personalities, ensuring they were openly mocked on camera for the viewers to enjoy. He operated as host for 56 seasons, up until the Incident-- in which he was replaced by the third host.
The Incident
The Incident, as it became to be known as, was a spark of conflict that resulted in the change of several aspects of the show itself.During the 59th season’s 3rd round, four contestants were discussing the results of the previous round right before they were to disembark onto their next challenge. The discussion became heated when an agitated contestant accused another of cheating, prompting Richard to intervene. By this point in the show's running, Richard had grown increasingly antagonistic in recent years. This very temperament resulted in him threatening the aggressive contestant. Before the scene could escalate further, the TVS suddenly cut all broadcasts, ultimately ending the 59th season without a proper conclusion. While drama and conflict were a normal occurrence throughout the show’s existence, this was the only instance of it ending early. Many who have been studying the TVS phenomenon have gone over footage of the Incident in an attempt to understand what exactly had happened. While there are many theories, there has been no new information on this event to conclude anything substantial. What is clear however, was that there was a 30 second delay of the broadcast, and that the remaining 4 individuals of the 59th season were never returned to their worlds.
The Third Host

In the 60th season, Charley Chadwick - a holographic robot - replaced Richard Riot with no explanation of the former’s disappearance, nor of any conclusion of the previous season. His personality was the polar opposite of Richard’s, being more openly friendly to contestants and far more energetic. Most contestants seemed to warm up to him with no real issue, and he was a hit with most viewers due to his cheerful banter and lighthearted commentary.Charley remained host up until the 84th season. Although he maintained a cheerful demeanor, glitches and problems with production seemed to increase up until the final season.

Post-Season 84
The End of Season 84
“… release everyone [THE TELEVISION SPACE] did not create, send [me] back to [my] people, and dissipate..”The winner of Season 84, Jac, put an end to the Television Space Game Show with his wish. Following the conclusion of season 84, all staff were released from their positions and those the space had held captive were finally free. This included the missing hosts and the missing contestants from the Incident. Though years had passed at that point, they remained as young and youthful as they had the day they vanished.Whether or not the Television Space fully submitted to the wish, dissipating into the stars, or if it simply went into dormancy is unknown. That area of reality is far too isolated to confirm its disappearance and most beings who could traverse the space keep clear regardless.
Over the years though, the common conclusion most fell to was that the TVS and its game show were done for. With no outgoing signals detected and no known communication from the entity, many civilizations began to move on from the spectacle that once entertained them.
The Barrens
At the far reaches of reality, nestled among its fellow eldritch worlds and spatial anomalies, lies The Barrens: an impossible land of heat and light. For countless eons, the Barrens had only one purpose - to hunt for energy, to burn brighter, to grow immense. It was during its hunt where it discovered the presence of a similar entity known as the Television Space. It was a land of entertainment and intrigue, and the setting of a grand competition — and the Barrens took an interest in its goings-on. However — before it could fully study its power — the TVS and its space fell to dormancy.Years have passed, and the Barrens have begun to intersect with the dormant space as it probes for information, seeking out its lost source of intrigue. Its emissary, the Scrivener, supervises and studies what remains of the Space’s set pieces, while the Barrens slowly claim the surrounding vacant space for itself.
The New Host
A few weeks following the 10-year anniversary of the conclusion of season 84, a signal was broadcast to the extensive universe from the Television Space. It was weak — hardly noticeable to those who were not looking — but managed to catch the attention of a few who chose to archive it. It was visual and audio information depicting a small opossum in a suit greeting the camera with a wide smile.“Hello Universe! I am happy to announce the return of the Television Space Game Show! In a few weeks 16 of the luckiest individuals will be brought to our stage to compete for the chance of a life changing wish! Please stay tuned to your local stations! You don’t want to miss this grand comeback!”The signal was cut off, but the origin and its message were clear: a new host had appeared within the Television Space, and a familiar face to those who had been archiving information over the years. Daisy Hill, winner of season 77 and TVS enthusiast. Her wish was for teleportation abilities which served as the foundation to her vlog series, Spaced in Television. The end of season 84 and the gradual decrease in interest from the common populace led to her falling into obscurity.Though her broadcast signals a return of the show, the space itself remains inert. The growing encroachment of the Barrens and her sudden appearance has now led to rumors that perhaps the TVS is truly gone and a new problem is starting to grow in its absence.

Premise

OH! A new contestant! Excellent! It’s so nice of you to give us your time! You’re fine with being filmed on live TV right? Eh, well. You maybe should have thought about that before being brought here. We’ll have you sign the NDA later. For now, let me tell you about what we are doing here!Welcome to The Television Space Game Show, or TVS for short. The TVS is – or I guess, was – a universally broadcasted game show held within a sentient pocket dimension (whom the game show was named after). The place has been left kind of a mess since the end of season 84, but we fixed it up and got it working again so don’t worry about the mess. Everything should be sorted out by the time we get the show going.Just maybe, don’t wander off. The TVS still hasn’t really come around to us being here and I would hate to lose someone during our first season back. Now let’s see… should probably read you the actual information guide…. You cannot leave and participation is mandatory, the usual gimmick with these sorts of contests - but don’t worry! By reaching across space and time, the TVS – or in this case WE - have chosen you to be one of our many stars to light up the old stage for the first time in a decade!Like past participants, you must engage in various rounds against other contestants. Each round will feature an overarching theme or genre that has been created specifically for you and your opponent. Genres can range from solving a case in a mystery thriller to competing in a game of sportsball (what fun!). Winning a round does not require you to eliminate your opponent, simply finishing the required task first or incapacitating them will move you to the next round. However, even if an accident does occur between opponents, do not fear! Death or violence shown during the rounds only occurs within the TVS itself. Think of it as a little television magic, only while the magic is happening will you feel it. Upon losing a round contestants will be… well, so we haven’t gotten the “ability to send people back” working just yet. BUT we should be able to send you home once everything is done. Now, you might find it hard to participate. I mean, being brought here without your actual consent makes things a bit hard to accept. But don’t worry, we’ve all been there. We do have a pretty good motivator to keep your interest. Upon advancing and winning the last round, the final contestant will be granted one wish.Anything you want. No restrictions besides the standard “can’t wish for more wishes” thing.Don't worry! Even if you don't win it will all work out.We have a plan after all! As the previous Host said:'While you’re not here by choice, that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun!'
General Information
Television Space is a PG-13, character-driven bracket-styled tournament, open to comics, written entries, animation, and anything else you can come up with.Characters are brought into the Television Space Game Show against their will and forced to compete against one another in order to obtain 1 wish of their choosing. Previous seasons were run under similar rules, but this season has a new crew that seem a bit - off. Is this just another game show desperately trying to reinvent itself to stay relevant, or is there something else happening behind the scenes? You’ll just have to stay tuned to find out!

Genre-Themed Rounds in Television Space OCT
For each round, contestants must choose from 3 offered genres. Everyone will receive the same genre options and the genre chosen can only be used once per contestant. In the following rounds, the 2 remaining genres that were not chosen will be offered to individual contestants again, with the addition of 1 new genre so that there will always be three options to choose from. For example: For the first round you will have the choice of genre A, B, or C. If you choose genre B and make it to the next round, you will be offered a choice of genre A, C, or D.This means you can freely plan your character’s stories around the provided genres. However, keep in mind that the final round will not follow these rules.Because genres are fluid and overlap, entries can incorporate other genres into their round (i.e. using horror elements in a mystery genre or having action elements in a western). However, the genre selected from the round choices must be the most prominent and easily identifiable throughout the round.
The audition period will be open for:

Judging and Judges
Judging Criteria
Judging for this OCT will be conducted using this rubric. All entries will be reviewed by 3 judges, with the points of each rubric being tallied for a final score. These final scores will determine who moves on between auditions and rounds, as well as which bracket your character will be placed into during round 2. Scores are only limited to the current stage of the tournament, so past scores will not influence later scores.Due to concerns about the quality of entries being submitted, all entries must earn an accumulated score of 33 to be considered a valid entry. This would be 1 point in each row on the rubric minus the bonus 2 points earned for submitting on time, between all three judges. Should your entry fall below 33 total points, you will be notified of this finding and will be automatically disqualified. If you feel that this judging is invalid you can reach out to Talon for further discussion on the matter.Should a match not have a valid entry between both competitors, we will offer a Second Wind to another contestant. To qualify for this second win, contestants must have lost their match for the current round and be within the same bracket. The offer will be extended to the highest ranked and proceed down until this vacant position is filled.Scores will not be publicly posted; however, you may request your scores once judging has concluded. Rubrics can also be shared should you wish to review your score more thoroughly; however judging notes will be kept private. We will not be offering critiques, but we can offer a summary of our impressions of your entry.

NPCs

Daisy Hill
Fourth Host of Television Space
Age: 35
Species: Opossum
Height/Weight: 3’, 40 Ibs
Gender/Pronouns: Female, She/HerPersonality: A positive, chatty individual. Daisy believes there is good in everyone and thing. Nothing is truly evil, just needing the right chance to improve. As a result, it is near impossible to bring her mood down. She can get a bit self-focused, especially when vlogging or talking about TVS, but it’s more of her lack of general awareness than anything malicious.Likes: Vlogging about her day, bugs, anything TVS relatedHates: Being ignored, negative vibes, selfish behavior.
Strengths
Console control: Daisy is the host for this season and has complete control over the stage console (the desk on the main stage). Using her phone connection, she can activate portals to transport contestants to and from the Game Worlds.Prehensile Tail: Daisy has a prehensile tail which she can use like a third arm for tasks.
Weaknesses
Small Stature: She is only 3’ tall and often struggles with normal tasks such as opening doors and light switches.Naïve: Her positive outlook often causes her to overlook real threats as she puts trust and hope into those on a face level.Freeze Up: When faced with extreme stress Daisy will freeze in place for a period of time. It requires a lot for it to occur and must be a surprise that catches her entirely off guard. The act itself is an instinctual response and often leaves her in a trance like state until either her mind can break through or from someone else.
Misc. Facts
Daisy is a past contestant winner of Season 77 where she wished for the ability to travel between connected worlds. Her phone is the result of that wish – and is what enabled her to travel back into television space.
She is close to Havoc and enjoys his mischievous nature he brings.

Gender/Pronouns: Male, He/HimPersonality: Impatient, Mischievous gremlin and food destroyer; Havoc is a poor security guard and has no real drive to help the game show run smoothly beyond keeping Daisy happy. Those who see him often think of him as carefree or lazy, but he’s always primed to jump into action should someone push him too far or cause too much trouble. Havoc is often seen lounging around in the back or by the now blocked exit, waiting and observing. He dodges questions in regards to his motivations for being there, but he is clearly waiting and searching for something or someone.Likes: Food (as it’s a less violent way to obtain energy), DaisyHates: The TVS and all it’s creations, isolation, frailty of mortals
Strengths
Energy Repurpose: Havoc is an entity that can take energy (life, power, any form of energy) and use it to reconstruct himself and the world around him. With enough power he could possibly ascend to that of a God and have enough power to rival the Television Space.Dangerous Touch: Can draw energy directly from a source from a simple touch of his hands. The cuffs on his limbs keep him from hurting contestants but he can remove them easily.Speedy: Havoc is fast when he wants to be and can shift his form to give him a better advantage in terms of speed.Altered Vision: His visor enables him to see colors beyond the range of typical mortals.
Weaknesses
Faulty Genetics: Due to an error with his genetic code, he consumes more energy than he outputs. He is unable to obtain enough energy as he is to fix it himself and it is slowly killing him.
Weak Shell: Havoc’s body is frail and cannot withstand a lot of direct hits before breaking.Maintain Equilibrium: Havoc must maintain a specific level of energy to function properly. Too little energy and he becomes lethargic, food aggressive, and his form begins to fall apart. Too much and he can become crazed from the rush and his form becomes more chaotic.Nearsightedness: without his visor Havoc struggles to see things clearly beyond 10 feet.
Misc. Facts
A past winning contestant, though reluctant to say which season or delve into his wish.
The cufflinks are repurposed scrap from the missing camera. Designed to help keep Havoc at equilibrium by drawing small amounts of energy from viewership and to limit his draw of energy through direct touch to prevent accidental injury to contestants.
Havoc will randomly enter game worlds should he become bored. He does nothing to fit into the different environments.
When his form fails, it becomes a black goop that drips down and reveals a blackened human skeleton. He is very protective of this skeleton and will often do his best to hide it from prying eyes.
His true form is of a 7” long, shrimp-like creature.
His connection to Daisy is the only reason why he willingly participates as a crew member. She is the only one he will listen to - to the annoyance of the rest of the staff.

Scrivener
Logistical Manager
Age: ???
Species: ???
Height/Weight: 6’2, 80 lbs
Gender/Pronouns: He/TheyPersonality: Standoffish and haughty, it’s clear the Scrivener is not here because he enjoys the company of the other staff - rather, he is focused almost exclusively on maintaining the stability and integrity of the TVS’s internal structures and systems, as well as to document and decipher the exact internal processes of how the TVS turns views into energy into wishes.Likes: Working, Efficiency, Power, SuperiorityHates: Interruptions, Setbacks, Failure, Moisture
Strengths
Spatial Recognition: The Scrivener is familiar with the workings of eldritch spaces such as the TVS, and is able to weave and revise bits of the space around him as needed.Scorching Sands: The Scrivener is surrounded by an aura of heat and whirling sand, the intensity of which fluctuates based on his mood.
Weaknesses
Mummified: The Scrivener’s body is physically frail and fragile, and wrapped in bandages for stability. Disrupting his physical form may render him weaker than usual for a period of time as he pulls himself together.Arrogant: The Scrivener believes himself to be above most other lifeforms, and as such will often vastly underestimate their abilities and intelligence in comparison to his own.
Misc. Facts
The Scrivener hails from the Barrens, an arid eldritch wasteland of blinding heat and swirling sand.
The Scrivener is left-handed.
The Scrivener does not sleep.

The Rigger
The Stage Technician
Age: Unknown (assumed ~30)
Species: Unknown (assumed human)
Height/Weight: 5’3” / Weight unknown
Gender/Pronouns: Agender / Any pronounsPersonality: Boisterous and confident, The Rigger is often seen smirking, as if they know something you don’t. There is a very serious side to them, however, and it will emerge when the situation calls for it. Always ready to spar, they can be abrasive in their confidence. They are typically able to back up said confidence though, being highly skilled in their field of stage technician.Likes: Sparring, getting paid, harmonica, pranking people, unions
Hates: Corporations, sticks-in-the-mud, unstable work, losing crewmates
Strengths
All-Around Tech: The Rigger seems to have some sway in the mechanics of the worlds generated in TVS, being the sole technician working behind the scenes.Fighter: The Rigger is trained and enjoys hand-to-hand combat. Sparring is a favorite past-time of theirs.
Weaknesses
Overconfident: The Rigger can sometimes let their confidence get the better of their judgment and place them in risky situations.Small Stature: Despite being in excellent shape, The Rigger is still only 5’3”. As such, there are very human limits to their physical strength.
Misc. Facts
+ The Rigger was released from TVS at the end of Season 84. They were approached some time later by Daisy and Havoc to inquire about their employment again due to Rigger being the sole tech knowing the station inside and out. At first, Rigger was hesitant– given the trauma of their first employment at TVS– but as soon as the payment was mentioned, they were on board.

Tomi Touer
The Engineer
Age: 55
Species: Feline/Felidae
Height/Weight: 5’6”, 160 Ibs
Gender/Pronouns: Female, She/HerPersonality: Quiet and analytical, Tomi is a highly intelligent individual who prefers to keep to herself. She suffers from severe social anxiety – something she has struggled with her entire life – and greatly detests being brought back. Despite this though, Tomi is determined to finish the projects she has been working on and see this season to the end.Likes: Quiet places, the pleasant feeling and sound of cutting wires, and the low repetitive hum of a ship in flight.
Hates: Loud noises, Annoying Characters, and being the center of everyone’s focus.
Strengths
Familiar Environment: Having helped create the Original Stage, she is very familiar with it’s inner workings. She knows all of it’s quirks inside and out, as well as the areas not detailed on the blueprints.Technical Know-How: Knows a lot about constructing machines and specialized filming equipment. Has a P.H.D. in Astronautical Engineering and very familiar with satellite technology.
Weaknesses
Old Bones: Having been trapped within the Television Space for years before being set free, Tomi has been outside of time far too long and struggling to adjust to her now aging body. Her bones and muscles have weakened significantly and often injures herself by accident.Stage Fright: Easily overwhelmed when too much attention is drawn to her. She can handle small groups of two or so individuals, but large crowds or being put center stage stress her out and cause her to flee.
Misc. Facts
Following the end of season 84, Tomi was set free from the Television Space along with several other staff members and contestants who had ended up on the entity’s bad side. The last 10 years she has spent teaching for a college and caring for her friend Richard who is still recovering from his time within the space.
Was brought back by mistake.
When not assisting Rigger with the stage, Tomi is usually working on side projects of unknown use. She’s secretive about her work but will ask for assistance in fetching certain items. Especially items not normally found within the bounds of the stage.

Nitro and Antimony
The Father-Daughter Duo
| Nitro | Antimony | |
|---|---|---|
| Age: | 5000+ years (lost track a long time ago) | 26 |
| Species: | Opokean | Godkin |
| Height / Weight: | 7'8" / 364 lbs | 6' / 193 lbs (weightless when floating) |
| Gender, Pronouns: | Male, he/him | Agender, she/her |
| Personality: | Defensive, protective, charming, adoring husband and father, makes no empty threats | Rambunctious, adrenaline junkie, master of comebacks, assertive, highly observant, “ask questions now, shoot later” |
| Likes: | His daughter (Antimony), his husband (God), chaos, high-energy folks, unpredictability, strategy, Berg (fellow godkin and Theran triarch), Jac (fellow Theran triarch) | Her dads, dominoes, houses of cards, chess, go, Jac, Berg, Mother (fellow goddess), Aleph (fellow god), Time (fellow god) |
| Dislikes: | Office (fellow god), the Grand Inquisitor (fellow god), rules, absence of logic, high-and-mighty folks | Poker, blackjack, Uno, school, Thera (prefers Eden, God's home planet), the Grand Inquisitor (fellow god), Office (fellow god) |
Strengths
| Nitro | Antimony |
|---|---|
| Vessel of God: The god lying dormant inside him keeps Nitro from sustaining too much damage. He doesn’t have regeneration, but the living entropy (the black goo) that seeps from him will patch most wounds. Opokean biology: Opokeans, now extinct, have been evolutionarily honed into efficient weapons. As such, Nitro is extremely flexible, agile, and physically strong. Tactician: Nitro is Thera’s military strategist, and can think logically in times of crisis. He can easily switch up plans should a variable change, and isn’t easily overwhelmed by change. | Godkin: Antimony is, by nature, extremely durable and difficult to harm or kill. Her regenerative capabilities and stamina make sure of that. Density control: She can change her own density to weigh anything between 193 and 0 lbs, and often uses this ability to float around idly. Rarely does she ever walk. Negentropic: Antimony contains within her a perfectly balanced amount of living entropy, which comes out of her left eye. Because it is negentropic, she can control it to do any number of things. It has a limited range, however, and cannot stretch too far from her eye. |
Weaknesses
| Nitro | Antimony |
|---|---|
| Entropic: The god of entropy is not a kind one to its host. If Nitro becomes overwhelmed, the living entropy he produces will become highly unstable. This can lead to any number of side effects— from him being ill to fainting to generally weakened. It causes similar symptoms to carbon monoxide poisoning. Lovesick: Nitro is vulnerable to emotional manipulation if one brings up his husband. He is always eager to gush about him, which can lead to him letting his guard down. This extends to his daughter as well, but given she’s here, it won’t work nearly as well. This trait also makes him softhearted towards kids. Himbo: Nitro is street-smart, but not really all that book-smart. He has encyclopedic knowledge on war and tactics, and that’s the extent to which his intelligence lies. Show the guy a carburetor and he’ll think it’s a toy. | Peacemaker: Antimony is a mediator to a fault, and will often exhaust herself to make sure everyone is treated fairly in conflicts. It is easy to stretch her thin and overwhelm her if one chooses to emotionally manipulate her. Crown of Thorns: Her crown, the Crown of Thorns, is a biological punishment system for when her internal living entropy becomes destabilized. If it activates, she will be stunned for several minutes. All one needs to do is energize or de-energize the entropy in her left eye. Dad: If anything happens to Nitro, Antimony will be thrown into a blind rage to her own detriment. She will destroy herself attempting to get revenge and will be single-minded until she feels reparations have been made. In this state, she uses her powers to the fullest, making her extremely dangerous. But she also becomes incredibly unstable, which causes the Crown of Thorns to activate frequently. |
Misc. Facts
| Nitro | Antimony |
|---|---|
| Nitro has an excellent sense of smell due to the ridges on his nose. They also act as chemoreceptors. The rings in Nitro’s eyes are due to the presence of the god within him (called the Riverbeast). He still carries Antimony around like a toddler sometimes, especially when she’s tired. He hates sleeping and thinks it’s a waste of time. | She frequently styles Nitro’s hair for him and is always excited to try something new with it. Opokean tusks are a non-dominant trait. Nobody really knows why she ended up with them. Jac is her non-blood uncle. Underneath her bandages and loincloth, she’s completely bare— not unlike a doll. This is due to her being more parts god than Opokean. Not-so-secretly loves being babied by Nitro and God. She uses her wings to guide her through the air when she’s floating. |

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the rounds like?
Prior to round beginnings, contestants will be randomly assigned an opponent. Round opponents and round information will generally be posted around the same time and will indicate the start of the round.
Per round, each contestant must choose one of three presented genre options. Contestants can then choose a medium to present their character undertaking a challenge involving the selected genre. Competitors must incorporate their opponent’s character and defeat them in a diegetic conflict while maintaining a cohesive narrative.
How do I win the round?
Using the OCT judging rubric, judges will compare the qualities of both competitor round entries. The round that scores highest on the rubric between all judges' totals shall be declared the winner.
How do I win TVS?
As this is an elimination style OCT, each round end will halve the contestant bracket (except for round 1). The participant who continues through the audition and all five bracket rounds will be declared the winner of TVS.
What is the rating for content submitted to this OCT?
The rating for this OCT is PG-13. Mild Violence and blood will be allowed, but graphic or gratuitous gore, nudity, and sexual content is banned and will result in immediate disqualification.
Will there be critiques?
There will not be critiques for this OCT, however we can provide feedback on where entries were weakest and ways to improve should it be requested.
Can my content be a collaboration with another creator?
Yes, you can collaborate with another creator. We only ask that you provide a name so that we can reference them in the roster.
Is killing a character allowed?
Due to the nature of the TVS environment, killing a character is allowed. However, as a courtesy you will need approval from the character’s owner. All we ask is that you please show some respect to your opponent in the manner of death agreed upon.
What are the requirements to enter TVS?
How many auditions will be accepted?
We are aiming for a small bracket size of 16.
How long is each round?
The audition period and round length will be 2 months, with a 2-week window for extensions and 2 weeks for a proper judging period. The amount of time TVS will operate will be about 2 years should everything run smoothly.
How do I submit entries to TVS?
A new Discord channel will be added at the beginning of every round and locked three days after the end of the submission period. You may also use the submission form if you do not wish to use Discord. The DeviantArt group will no longer be used to accept entries.
Do I have to include the Host/NPC’s in my entries?
The host character is integral to TVS and is a required interaction for the auditions/rounds. Other NPCs/Judge characters are not required, but we encourage you to utilize them – especially if you choose to follow a bonus prompt.
Can I simplify a character’s design?
It is fine to simplify certain elements if it is easier for you to draw them, so long as we can still identify the character.
May we give our characters ties to the events described in the Known History of TVS?
Yes, you can give your characters ties to past events stated in Known History. Any additional information that may be dropped is also free to use as you see fit. Regarding any NPCs in TVS (both previously used and currently used), you may utilize them or related information pertaining to them however you want, so long as they are strictly for storytelling purposes. You cannot use them to help your character against your opponent, and they cannot accompany your character between rounds.
Can we have a duo of characters competing together?
Yes! TVS2 will allow for duo characters to be entered together. However, only one wish can be granted.
Can I have a character be related to TVS, but from seasons outside of what is discussed in Known History?
Yes! You can have characters who are past contestants or related to past contestants so long as it does not interfere with the canon cast for seasons 67 and 84, nor the confirmed winners of past seasons listed here.
Do contestants get sent home immediately after being defeated, or do they stay within TVS until the end of the tournament?
Contestants will not be sent home when defeated, and will instead be able to participate in spectator entries.
